The BIG day!

I woke up Wednesday morning (January 28th) at around 8:00. Marlee was still sleeping and it was a good morning. Around 8:30 I felt a really strong contraction. Then another one shortly after. I went and asked Ivan if he had a stop watch and he didn't, so I just tried to keep track on a clock. By 9:00 I had had contractions every 3-5 mins. I went and told Ivan, who was on a team conference call at the time, that I think I am going into labor. ( I was induced with Marlee, so I wasn't sure how labor was going to be) He told his team, "I think my wife is in labor, I gotta go." Marlee was awake by now and Ivan had her in her highchair feeding herself breakfast. (This way I could labor without her by my side saying in a concerned voice, "Mommy?Mommy?")
I called my mom and asked her if I could go from no pain to 5 min apart contractions and she said, "I can tell by your voice you are in a lot of pain, go to the hospital, I'll meet you there." So Ivan hurried and got things packed up, washed Marlee, etc., while I continued to labor and think, "This was the most painful thing in my life, we better get going or we won't make it to the hospital. "(We live 25 mins from our hospital.) We got in the car and I told Ivan not to speed because I couldn't relax through my contractions knowing he was speeding. (Ivan was bummed because it would be his one free opportunity to speed and not get in trouble!)
We got to the hospital around 10:30am and Josie Barbara Mack was born at 10:43am!

  2. She is adorable..I love the little bow in her hair! (my sis had a baby two days after Josie arrived :)) Your little family is so cute! And you look amazing! How do you do that? Well it was a good thing you got to the hospital with thirteen minutes to spare! (If Ivan would have gotten pulled over it would have added that extra time and Im sure you would need a good car wash)
    Congrats again!!!
